Give Thanks To God

“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ concerning you.” (I Thessalonians 5:18)

Here the Apostle Paul is telling us that it is God’s will to thank Him in every situation. In order to always give thanks to God, it is important for us to “pray without ceasing” (I Thessalonians 5:17).

If you are praying constantly, you will discover that your prayer life itself will give you all kinds of reasons to be thankful to God no matter what.

You will also find yourself continually giving thanks to God when you come to know that everything that happens to you will work out for your good.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

I know too much about the grace and mercy of God to ever doubt that He can bring me through anything.

Has the Lord ever brought you through anything?

Well, the same God that brought you through on yesterday is the same God that can and will bring you through today.

If you are armed with knowing that, regardless of your circumstances, everything that happens to you will work out for your good, then you as a believer have a rock-solid motive to give God thanks for everything.

“O give thanks unto the Lord: call upon His name: make known His deeds among the people.” Psalm 105:1

Thank the Lord for loading you up with benefits (Psalm 68:19; Psalm 103:2).

Thank God for saving you (Ephesians 2:8).

Thank Jesus for dying for your sins (John 10:11).

Thank God for changing you (II Corinthians 5:17)

Thank God for giving you joy (John 15:11)

Thank the Lord for providing for you (Philippians 4:19)

Thank God for guiding you, even when you didn’t know it (Psalm 37:23)

Thank God for protecting you from all hurt, harm or danger.

Thank God for making a way out of no way (Psalm 124).

Thank the Lord for His many, many blessings. God wonderfully blesses you every day.

I’ve been saying for some time that our God is a blessing specialist. He knows how to bless, He knows who to bless and, oh yes, He knows when to bless.

There is always reason to rejoice and thank God for His goodness. “O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good” (Psalm 107:1-2).

In everything, give thanks (Philippians 4:6-7).

In fact, every now and then, you ought to have what a friend of mine calls “a ‘thank you’ fit.”

Thank you, Lord!

Thank you, Lord!!

Thank you, Lord!!!

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:20

Happy Thanksgiving!

A Word About Political Correctness

Posted in Encouraging Bible Verses, Encouraging Christian Resources, Encouraging Quotations at 10:21 pm by Administrator

In these godless, immoral and spiritually confusing times, it is exceedingly important that we Christians realize that we have NOT been called to be “politically correct.” Instead, we have been called to be biblically correct, morally correct and spiritually correct.

“Then Peter and the other disciples answered and said, ‘We ought to obey God rather than men’.”
Acts 5:29

Christians have no business whatsoever getting direction and validation from a popular culture that is anti-God and anti-Bible, no matter how glamorous or sensational it may be. In other words, we who are blood-bought, blood-washed and Holy Ghost-filled believers should NEVER get our moral and spiritual guidance from Oprah, Dr. Phil, Tyra Banks, Steve Harvey, Tyler Perry, Judge Judy, Modern Family, The View, Lady Gaga or Jerry Springer, to name a few.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly.”
Psalm 1:1

We would do well to listen to the words of the great Scottish homiletician, Dr. P. T. Forsyth, who said, “If we do not have within us that which is above us, we will soon yield to that which is around us.”

My dear friend, C. E. McLain, has astutely said, “It is one thing to be tolerant and open-minded, but it is another thing to try to re-write Scripture.”

Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2

In this loose and “anything goes” society, God’s Word instructs you and corrects you (II Timothy 3:16). God has the final Word. Don’t get to the point where God can’t tell you anything!

Stand on the principles, values and standards that are in line with God’s Word and God’s Will.

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36
